Npc’s asking questions is huge. It’s not like DM’s don’t know this… it’s that in the moment you forget while juggling lore and a silly voice. Being mindful of it is a great reminder!

Honestly the only things I actually consider are the things the players will see and interact with. The point of the NPC is to be a person for the players to interact with, and I want that part of it to feel in the moment and genuine and putting more thought into it than that would hold me back.
