I have tipping fatigue. Chastise me all you want, I refuse to tip. Employers are responsible for paying their workers a fair wage. I will pay what the menu charges for the food I order and nothing more except tax.

I think it’s horrific. They should at least pay minimum wage. My daughter works at a steakhouse and makes $2 hour. Some guests do not tip or give a $3 tip on a $100 meal.

Wow... Eum... Is that even legal, because I guarantee that the company is basing the payroll on taxes by your wage + the tips, divided by the employees to make the total of your payroll since tips are tax deductible and also taxed to make their payroll claim of loss to make the government pay them more for paying you less

Tipping is one of the worst things about visiting the USA. It’s so confusing, and I feel like I’m participating in systematised abuse. It turns hardworking people into beggars.

I am a generous tipper who absolutely hates typing culture! I would love it if everyone made AT LEAST minimum wage. then if you feel like someone does an amazing job at something.. tip them as well. or not. either way they make enough to live.

The tipping system is flawed, but good servers love it. And for me in HS & College (98-2004) I easily made $15 an hour, probably averaged $20/hour. Good money for kid.

I agree, I will tip but the system is broken the restaurant should pay at least the minimum wage. Tips should be a bonus for you doing a great job, much how I tip others

This is not accurate. In states that pay below minimum wage plus tips, if the tips don't equal out to at least the minimum wage, the employer must make up the difference and bring the hourly wage to minimum wage. So you would be making minimum wage, at the very least. I have been there and done that. Do I agree .. irrelevant. Let's just be accurate.

I highly support tipping good service but mandatory tips are trash because the wait staff doesn't normally get 100% of them. Ain't the federal minimum 7.75hr? 🤔 this always confuses me 🤷🏾♂️
