I moved away—I’m 18, turning 19. She’s been telling people that I “ran away,” but that’s not true. I told her I’m safe and making my own choices because I’m an adult now. I haven’t even lived with her since my freshman year of high school. Over time, I slowly stopped talking to her, and now I don’t talk to her or my dad at all. When I was a child, she abused me and my brother. Growing up in that environment left me constantly on edge. Even as I got older, I was emotionally drained from trying to maintain a relationship. Whenever I opened up about how I felt, she made me feel guilty for being sad. I was eventually diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Instead of supporting me, she tried forcing me to take medication and birth control. I refused both because I wanted to manage my mental health in my own way—and I’ve been able to do that successfully. I just hope she focuses on herself and minds her own business. I’ve always felt tense and uncomfortable around her, no matter how much I tried to make things work. It just wasn’t possible. So I moved away, and now I’ve never felt more at peace with myself and everything around me.

Recently told my mum she’s not invited to my daughter’s wedding because of how she’s treated her and us. She seems genuinely heartbroken whilst now punishing me with silence it seems. Very confusing but I’ve seen it all before.

my mom lives witj me, I've spent the last 45 days in icu with my son, she hasn't even tried to visit him but she gets so upset when I leave the house to visit him. when I'm home witj her, she doesn't really want to talk, hang out or anything, just wants me here. she threw a fit today and then got mad when I agreed witj her that she was lazy, I've gotten the cold shoulder and silent treatment since getting home. learning to detach myself, the mother daughter relationship is gone, but I can treat her well and care for her as just another person.

My mom told me that I had to respect her feelings 2 weeks before my wedding by not having a reserved seat for my dad because it was too hard for her. I told her I was absolutely honoring my dad at MY wedding. She ended the phone call with “then I wont be there” and she never came! That was a year ago and havent spoken to her since.

my mom says she’s “taken accountability for her actions” but BY HOW?? she claims i haven’t for my own and i am genuinely just so done w her atp. this all began when i tried to confide in her how she was emotionally neglective of me growing up and she immediately got defensive about it all and it’s been a mess since. i genuinely can’t wait to never see her again

literally just wanted to make her aware of what she did was wrong. I showed her that the actions she did to me were illegal, literally shower her the exact law and she just laughed it off and asked me if I was in a bad mood that I'm talking about that.
