John Rodriguez. He is a Vet Rep out of Chicago who works NW Indiana on his personal time. Vets make the trip out of stage for one of his DAV meetings. It’s free and he works miracles getting you through the red tape. I can DM you his info, if you’d like.

Have you checked with the DAV in your area? We fought for years and got nowhere until my husband got a lifetime membership and they provided an advocate to help. It took lots of appointments at the VA, some letters from family and friends and a couple other things, and, a bit of time, but, he got what the regs say he should.

My husband is getting there, you have to keep appealing. I have done a lot of research (and in the medical field) on connecting service related issues if you have any questions. You deserve it!

Highly recommend reaching out to DAV. They helped my dad get my grandpa at 100% so his benefits after he passed would go to my grandma. My dad then worked on his. I think he is close to 100% now. My dad had nothing but amazing things to say about them. They told him exactly what paperwork he needed and how to fill it out. All their services are free. He had no idea they provided this service. A volunteer at the local VFW told him about it.

An fyi: the VA lawyers told her that the VA is so backed up now since congress gave the approval for all those that were involved with those burn pits in Iraq, they have over 130,000 claims to do & now the rest of you vets are held up with ur claims.

That's ridiculous. And, put out some feelers for an advocate. We have one in my town that my husband used. They are free. But, I'm in Oklahoma and I don't think you are.
