Briana :
Why did He praise the faith of non-Israelites and say whosoever believes will be saved? God’s love is not based on bloodline its based on faith. You’re using Acts 2:5 to say only Israelites were at Pentecost, but you’re ignoring the full context. Look at what the passage actually says
Acts 2:5 (KJV)
“And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.”
That verse just means Jews were gathered from all over the world. it doesn’t mean only Israelites were there. Keep reading!
Acts 2:10–11 (KJV)
“Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.”
That word "proselytes" refers to Gentiles (non-Israelites) who had converted to worship the God of Israel. So clearly, it wasn’t only bloodline Israelites at Pentecost.
Then Peter wraps up the message with this Acts 2:39 (KJV)
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
That includes all nations everyone who God calls, not just Israelites.
You can’t just focus on verse 5 and leave out verses 10 and 39. That’s taking Scripture out of context to support a belief, instead of letting the whole passage speak for itself. When you read it all together, it’s clear that salvation through Jesus was already being offered to people from every nation just like God planned from the beginning.
You guys are clearly cherry-picking Scripture to fit your doctrine
