When those proverbs were coined, she should know that, women were denied a lot of rights eg. right to own properties, so women could not own any property in their names unless in their husbands’ names, hence the proverb ”ɔbaa tɔ tuo a, ɛtwere berima dan mu” now the tuo will be in my room because i can own properties in my name. Secondly “ɔbaa wanimuonyam ne awareɛ” also takes us to those days when women had nothing going on for themselves, they will be recognized only when they’re married. But now, women go to school, establish businesses, contribute to the growth of the economy and a whole lot, so definitely the animuonyam is now in their achievements but not marriage. All these proverbs are no longer useful in our present days. It’s not relatable as well.
