This is Kerimalai (Shore town call) Keni (Pool). The water comes from the sea. Naturally built to flow freely like a river so relatively clean. Yes it is very religious. There are Sivan Temples built from the southern most tip of Sri Lanka all the way to North India and they all fall in a straight line. Unfortunately some of these temples were destroyed by religious fanatics (by Sinhalese and colonizers in Sri Lanka and Mogals and other other colonizers in India. Kerimalai Sivan Temple is very religious for Sivam (early form of Hindusium) people and mostly where they do rituals to remember the past relatives.
