@venus.feroci: There’s a lesson here, i don’t hear anyone talking about… thoughts? Also, I heard a part of the issue was the change in the content. People liked his 9 to 5 content, they liked his relatability. #fyp #hubslife #entrepreneur #creator #viral #trending #9to5 #wfh
I think it's because he built his platform on living an ordinary life and then flipped it to become an influencer full-time. The transition was polarizing. Someone made a video and said that's "enemy marketing" or something like that. I don't think it's just because he took the leap and left his job.

The stability part!!and why do people feel so entitled to get upset and call it begging? He’s asking bd if people want to they can I feel like this is societal projection sort of crab in bucket mentality to be annoyed by this sort of thing

He also quit his job, didn’t tell his followers, and then rented out an office space to make it seem like he was still going to work. His followers then found out and completely did a 180 on him

he didn't realize that people weren't there for him they were there for his content he did this in the dumbest way possible he could have very easily transitioned into stay-at-home dad who takes care of his girl boss wife and has an adorable kid content instead he sends his kid to a nanny and tries to pretend that people cared about him as a content creator when in reality people were just enjoying relating to his 9:00 to 5

He didn’t realize folks watched him for the content and not for him. Folks are not mad just because he quit, folks are mad because once he quits he pretends he still has a job by renting an office space and people found out. Also he said a year ago that although he makes enough money to quit is 9-5, he would never quit because of the benefits of having health insurance, retirement, and etc…

I think the main issue is that he made his TikTok platform/money/following off of his 9-5 content. When he quit the 9-5 and that content went away/changed, people don’t want to watch anymore lol. If the content he made wasn’t tied to his work then it’d be diff. It isn’t all about him leaving a 9-5 and becoming less relatable, it’s about him no longer creating the content we followed him for.

Me af. There’s no world when I’m gonna be able to hold down a 9-5 long term. Just not built for it!!

Great thought piece. Predictable boring jobs suffocate my soul. The risk is worthy of the reward.

I wasn’t familiar with this guy but it seems most of the pushback he is getting is due to him originally building his following around him working a 9-5. Him turning influencer and “e-begging” is the antithesis of everything he stood for previously. Saw someone compare it to being the equivalent of if Planet Fitness decided to change their company model to mirror Equinox instead. Obviously some people aren’t going to like that.

I think the main issue is that his TikTok following/money/platform came from people’s interest in watching the 9-5 content. His content was mostly based and relied on him having the 9-5 job. So when he quit and that content went away/changed, people were no longer interested. And he seems to not understand why that is. There’s def many people who are just jealous but the majority don’t get why he’s quit the 9-5 job that provided the content lololol. I think it’s less about lack of relatability and more about…we don’t want to watch you beg for galaxies hahah. How does he plan to sustain social media income now?
