nailed it on "not in the same place". no one I personally know is in the same boat as me on any impactful level. i lost a parent, they didn't..losing a father in law or grandparent is not the same..You will know when you know. soo much hits different and makes you appreciate what your mom went thru the things u seen her go throughout life.. Empty nester woman/wife is not the exact same as empty nester dad/hubby. they filled different roles to kids growin up.
