I agree with most of these, but Shotaro and Philip’s relationship is very hard to define, and I feel like it up to interpretation. I think they’ve both said they’re 2 halves of the same detective, so you could interpret them as one person split in two. I also feel like you could say they’re like best friends or brothers. They clearly love each other very much but theirs definitely enough room to interpret if that love is platonic or romantic

shotaro and phillip always felt like brothers to me. i always thought of the agency as a family, shotaro is the oldest, phillip the middle, and akiko the younger sister, when she goes off to marry terui, shotaro got a little defensive, not because he liked akiko, but because he saw her as a sister, and was concerned about this stranger taking her away. naturally, ryu becomes a great brother in law lol

Is it wrong that I think that for at least Sento and Banjou, that I think of them as friends not because I don’t think they should be in a romantic relationship but because I think it’s more of an interesting dynamic for them to be friends. Does that make sense?
