I remember understanding the different looks adults gave me as a child too. It got even worse during puberty, which confirmed what I thought as a child.

You unlocked a part of my memories that I suppressed. I fully intend on working through some of this with my therapist this week. Thank you for giving me the language to process some of the things that I couldn't put to words. Preverbal trauma is the worse kind.

I remember wanting to sleep next to mommy (emotionally/physically rejected me from birth) and she would push me to my fathers side of the bed and “go snuggle with your father” it made me want to scream, she let my younger brother sleep right up next to her every night. Never me.
