thanks for talking about her, honestly i feel like the hated is rooted in misogyny and femcels. a lot of the complaints that she had could be said about other characters as well, “her eyes are too far apart!!” that’s just the female adult model..? “her burst animation steps on us!” so did wanderer yet there’s no hate. you can hate a villain for being a villain, but hating her and supporting someone like aventurine or topaz makes no sense??? they’re still terrible people with the right intentions, and so is she.

personally in terms of writing, I think jade, topaz, and aventurine are well written, and that's exactly why I'm uncomfortable with them, especially remembering all the crimes and disasters the ipc caused, I hate the ipc in general and I think anyone who willingly joins such an organization is morally dubious.

I HATED when Jade came out bc I felt like me and my friend were practically on the front lines defending this fictional woman. "She's fan service!!" yeah one out of the many non fan service characters in this game. "She has slaves blah blah blah Aventurine story mischaracterization!" she literally SAVED HIM from slavery

honestly if this wasn't a gacha she would have definitely been on the more evil side but since they need to sell characters a character being out right evil with no good qualities would push general audience away i hate "morally grey" characters in gacha because if they didn't need to be sold I feel she would be more

This might be a bit odd since he's a four star but I feel like Arlan would qualify well for this list. He got to be in the tutorial and a couple quests on the space station but Peppy and Asta showed up in the racing game in 3.3 and Asta showed up in the cutscene during 3.X but no Arlan in sight. Also he got insanely shafted gameplay wise cause from what I've seen (I didn't start playing till 2.2) Arlan went from being a really good character to bottom tear. (I stubbornly cling on to using him though. He soloed through the Aventurine boss first try and got through two whole fights and one phase of Sunday's until I realized I'd taken off his light cone)

One other thing is that her banner was on the same patch as firefly. I get that part one banners usually overshadow part 2 banners but firefly being hyped up hard before hand could’ve also been a reason she was shafted

Finally someone says it I'm sick of the grooming allegations and the she's evil she's quite literally a morally gray character and then there's hating her yet being an active fan of Topaz as if Topaz isn't also a willing member of the IPC you should talk about Aglaea next community wise

The only reason I "hate" Jade is because someone reminded me that the IPC is literally just the IRS but privately owned, and it's just a running joke between me and my friends that I hate everyone in the IPC, but beyond that I think she is very well written (and that she should have kept the pants from her old model)
