Unfortunately, Beauty Schools or nail technician schools. Do not teach chemistry. So if you do not have a background in chemistry, a lot of the procedures for safe application is lost. And unless, you’re willing to go back and take a chemistry class, most won’t know.

Hairstylist are also chemists especially when it comes to hair coloring. One of my friends who went to Hair school in Europe was required to take actual chemistry classes for her license

PREACH Sister!!!!! Please listen to what Amber says! These are chemicals ! Even gel polish is a chemical and has to be light cured for a reason! Always wipe the nail after curing , even if its a no wipe top coat! You learn some of the science and chemistry of the products in school but as a nail tech its our job to educate ourselves and to handle everything safely !!!!!! If you think its just doing nails , you should not have access to anyone else hands or access to the products !!!!!!!!!

Imagine being in Australia where the industry isn’t regulated, there is no requirement for nail techs to be licensed, anyone can educate. Being self taught in normalised. It’s actually so INSANE!

just because you werent taught it in nail school doesn't mean you shouldnt be researching and understand the products- aka dangerous chemicals- you are using on other humans!❤️❤️❤️
