@thewin.finance: What are your thoughts about analyst ratings?  Analysts and investment banks are not manipulating the market with their stock ratings. This is a big misconception.  There are many rules and regs to prevent this, including:  - Strict separation between research analysts and investment banking departments. - Disclosure requirements: Firms and analysts must clearly disclose any material conflicts of interest in research reports.  -Trading restrictions, such as blackout periods before and after publishing research, prohibiting analysts from trading against their own recommendations, and sometimes banning analysts from holding shares in companies they cover.  Analysts cannot tell the future and they certainly can be incorrect, so always do your own research.
