But the real reason? 👀 Your pelvic floor is not chillin’ when you’re standing. It’s contracted. You’re asking your body to relax and let go while standing like you’re about to sing in the shower. That’s like trying to do your taxes at a rave. Your body was literally built to pee in a squat. That’s the position where the pelvic floor actually knows what to do. And before someone says, “Fine, I’ll squat in the shower.” 👏 Let 👏 me 👏 stop 👏 you 👏 there. Peeing to the sound of running water is bladder sabotage. You’re training your bladder like a Pavlovian dog. So now your brain thinks: 🦷 Brushing teeth? Time to pee. 🍳 Washing dishes? Time to pee. 🌧 Raining outside? Might as well go now! Then you’re messaging me like: “I don’t know why I can’t hold it anymore.” Well bestie, it started when you were multitasking pee time with shampoo time. Now, for those of you saying: “But I have to have water running to get the flow going.” Okay—yes, sometimes, especially in medical settings or when you’ve got stage fright, water can help your nervous system chill out. That’s not the issue. ✨The issue is when that becomes your default.✨ A habit is what you do consistently, not occasionally. So using water every now and then? No biggie. Using it every time? That’s where urgency starts creeping in. And if you struggle to start your stream, trust me—I’ve got way better techniques that don’t involve turning your bladder into a confused sprinkler system.
