Im with Jonny the word says we are dead to sin and on the cross Jesus took the sin so we are new creatures. Your confirming yourself with your thoughts and not with the word the word says we are new creatures and we walk by faith we are perfect and justified. I believe the word not my feelings or thoughts. You are believing what you think not the word. Your true identity is your perfect through Christ. Saying your a sinner says that Jesus is death is false. Bc you still think your a sinner

Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part. Also Romana 14:1 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. Also 13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

I don't think Johnny is false but is undiscerned he hasn't fully experienced the revelation of God nor had the Baptism of the holy spirit so he's reading things carnally and getting revelation based on flesh Wisdom and not spirit of truth

I think the verse you quoted made his point. “You WERE dead” “previously” “but God”, all show that, that WAS our former condition before Christ. It no longer IS b/c of grace. God revealed that to me, but I also understand that saying b/c it reminds you of the fallen nature of your flesh.

The term he used was were. Not are. You are not a sinner saved by grace. You were a sinner saved by Grace. If you are still a sinner, you are not saved.

Warring with the flesh is not motivated by the fact that we identify as sinners. We identify as saints because of Jesus and therefore war against the temptations of the flesh. Our identity = salvation. We live out of the truth of our justification and we don’t war against the flesh to refine the flesh. It’s dead and not us but sin that is dwelling in us. We fight to separate ourselves from that which requires no faith - the lusts of the flesh. We fight the good fight of faith in our calling, our adoption, our right standing and our role as children of God

To be fair, I think there are plenty of examples of many modern Christians clinging to the title of sinner to avoid practices of church discipline and personal growth, with many even rejecting sound doctrine. Like you said, I think only identifying with sainthood can create pride, but only identifying with sinfulness without acknowledging the power of Christ in you can create stagnancy. So like you said, acknowledging that we are sinners saved by grace addresses the fact that we are both sinful and are also experiencing Christ’s transformation. Unfortunately, I rarely hear the saved by grace portion, and typically only hear a claim to sinfulness. I hope that makes sense, but I feel as though there is more to this and it is important to think about…even though Johnny is definitely doing too much lol.

He's technically right, but at the same time is just making it more confusing. We were sinners saved by grace, can we still sin? Yes. Yet the transformation of being saved and living in righteousness is echoed in Scripture, not because of ourselves but because our focus is solely on Him and His ability to allow us not to fall into ANY temptations, thus no longer being a sinner.

If sancification is a process why did Jesus have to die? I think you have this clip of him all wrong. He doesn’t say we don’t sin. He does say we will sin til we die and that’s why Jesus died for us because we cannot uphold the commandments. The sin he is referring to is unbelief but that part is not in your clip. The sin you’re talking about is of the flesh sin we are the seed of Satan. I think as Christian’s we should come together. Stop condemning one another. Have a conversation with someone and learn from one another. Clipping it up like that is not the way. Get the whole context.

You can’t replace the cross with affirmation. Johnny says you don’t need repentance, just revelation. Let’s make this clear! Without repentance, revelation leads nowhere!

in Christ, your core identity is no longer “sinner,” your identity is “saint,” “child of God,” “redeemed,” and “righteous” in Christ. That doesn’t mean you don’t sin, but it means your sin no longer defines who you are.

Question about blaspheming the Holy Spirit. If you were saved and turned away from church, does that mean you blasphemed and can never return/be forgiven?

I studied at a Christian university. At the time, there was a group of students that believed this kind of stuff. One of them was a close friend of mine and would constantly shun me anytime I displayed anything that did not align with one's supposed "identity in Christ." For example, "You're sad? Oh then you don't know nor are you walking in your identity in Christ." Sadly, these groups also saw themselves as the most "spiritually awake and Holy Spirit led" students on campus.

Man to link Johnny to Gnosticism is a shock. He’s so far the other way that to even explain it does a disservice. I just think this ends up being a judgement without all of the information.
