I’m in Central Texas. I live on a creek in the country. Our county borders the hill country and has a lot of the same terrain. The creek area on our land is mostly limestone. We do ignore warnings often, unfortunately. Shelter in place is most common to do with severe weather due to low water crossings. It’s just not safe at night. I would have vacated a camper though BUT I completely understand I probably wouldn’t have known it was for flood. Therefore, I most likely wouldv’e looked for a safe place like campground bathroom which wouldn’t have been safe in this instance. That’s why I put “may”. I appreciate all your info you put out though and have been following. 😊

Yes! If I hear that siren I take cover, not run to high ground.

I slept through a tornado siren that was only a block away. My uncle had to come in & physically wake me up.

The rate at which water flows is incomprehensible to most. I don’t think sirens would have helped.

people that aren't apart of the area are always experts. Just like here in East TN with Hurricane Helene .. 🙄
