Im hopi. We have kachina dolls everywhere in the house. I treat them with respect and in return they protect me, my family, and the house. There are also stories ive heard about non native or other natives who have them and the dolls would come to life. But I was told that the dolls went back to normal because they returned them home to where they belong.

My ex father-in-law, has a lot of Kachina dolls and paintings of them. When I lived in his house I would always hear voices, doors closing and footsteps. The family thought I was weird after telling them and thought I was witching them, so they brought a medicine man over. Afterwords, my ex in-law started hearing what I was hearing and I told him what it was and why he shouldn’t have them. He claims to be traditional, but doesn’t understand or know anything and brushes it off. Especially after telling him his gf is witching everyone in the house especially me and his gf gifted him a kachina doll. I was told by my grandma who was very traditional to never have them in our house, or touch them. Everytime I enter his home, I make sure we wear our ghost beads.

I had a Hopi bro said when he was young they had a kachina doll one night something came around the house he said he watch the kachina grow into a human size and it protected him from whatever was tryna harm or scare him he was talking about a creature runs around 1st and 2 nd mesa trip me out

I’m Hopi and kachina dolls aren’t harmful or evil in any sort of way they are apart of our culture, crazy what foul words are being said in the comment section from people with no knowledge but stories they have heard.

Kachina dolls are very sacred and are not to be played with. they are our protecters and our spiritual beings. Only bad energy or people who carry bad energy may have brought those things upon themselves, or also someone who was given this by another may have used it with bad energy into why these things could have happened. All I gotta say is these katchina dolls from hopi are made with respect, harmony, humbleness and strength to prosper not to harm. stay positive about them and pray.

yes! my baby brother was about 4 he had a clown 🤡 doll my mom got at a thrift shop. It had hands with fingers kinda big he was alone playing in the living room with the clown and we were in the kitchen he screamed and got mad saying STOP IT DONT DO THAT! We asked him what happened he said the clown tried to tickle me ugh I grabbed the doll and threw it in the dumpster after that we were very cautious about toys 🧸 etc 😱

I'm hopi and I felt a little offended because kachina dolls are not meant for evil or do not resemble anything pertaining to that. kachina dolls are meant protection and only girls are gifted these dolls.

it was 2003 I was in third grade me and my mom were in the library on the computer, one of the boys Scott leader he got a doll in the toys they got i was the only girl in the building they give to me, after he gave me the doll I place the doll on the chair next me and my mom and the head move back and forth I thought I was seen things. and the second time it move the hands move that's when my mom said dont move and look at at it after it stop moving give it back I did they asked me why was i giving it back and I said it moved they didnt believe me😳😬😬

My mom was pregnant with me and my dad was making kachina dolls to make some extra money on the side... so after I was born, he was still making kachina dolls and I would have dreams of the kachinas circling me, staring at me and I would run and they chase me around the house... so he stopped making them but now my hands always go into the kachina hand positions, no matter how much I would fix them, they always go back into the positions... true story...

My uncle said he went back home one night unexpectedly and his doll was running around the floor but once it saw him, it dropped back down into a stiff position.

Hopi taught me that Kachina dolls are sacred and have great significance during certain ceremonies. I’m an outsider, but it is all beautiful to me. Hopi has always been kind to me and willing to teach me about their beliefs.

Hmmm we Diné were told to never have Kachina Dolls because they aren't for us and that Kachina Dolls carry a bad energy for us Diné but that was what I was taught 🙏💗

YES!! I had a cabbage patch doll that moved from room to room, I’ve caught it moving a few times and this one day I got so scared I got my dad to burn it.. but the next day it was sitting on my night stand

I think I found my new favorite page but yes I have had a bad experience with duendes or Mexican trolls but my mom bought them as dolls and they use to walk around at night and mess with us especially me and my mom
