also in straight fiction women and men are just seen as romantic partners after one occurrence, but queer stories have that ‘will they won’t they’ style which adds tension to the story, since the stakes are higher for them. straight romances tend to lose the appeal when you connect them to the real life since it’s honestly rare for straight women or men to have idealistic relationships they want (hence their media being solely to project themselves into) but wlw or mlm is most likely to have some sort of a relatable or realistic experience to the media they consume since most of the time the media’s inspiration comes from real, vulnerable moments ONCE AGAIN MY OPINION
