My theory: i think they knew he was getting self aware, thats why they gave him a lobotomy to keep him from saying anything but he’s still self aware on the inside and he wants to get out but someones telling him to stay quiet about being self aware and us, the viewers(us) are one of the main ones keeping him quiet and making him go mentally insane. Some edits show that others don’t know that they arent real and he’s the only one who is self awatr including the one with yellow and pink hair(forgot his name) which is the one keeping him quiet. Some edits show him covering his mouth or him showing a bit of emotion which shows that he is either being silenced or he is trying to keep from showing any emotion. If you look at all the videos with kiri, you can see he is looking at US and one video shows him saying “help me” or something like that. Same with insane iida. I haven’t seen his lore but i think the reason he’s going insane is because he’s getting self aware too. Kiri is clearly watching us and wants to get out but he can’t like someone is stopping him. So that’s my theory so far.
