Jax had adenoids and tonsils out about two months ago. Rotate the Tylenol/Ibuprofen every 4 hours like clockwork!! And breath will be be offensively stank. No diary or hot dogs during healing time!!

My toddler was the SAME he got them out at 1 same night they removed them the snoring was GONE! They asked me if i wanted him to get pre medicated before they took him and yess that made him a little loopy but then he didn’t cry when they took him back and he wasn’t upset crying going back to the OR. He is going to be crying hysterically after but it’s totally okay just waking up from anesthesia! And yess the smell for dayyyys be prepared!

I got it done as an adult so most of my tips are for grown ups. But keep on top of the pain meds! Set an alarm so you do it through the night. And make sure you give him a little food so the meds don’t upset his stomach. I used baby cereal but I hear it’s not as hard on kids so you could probably use ice cream or something.

Got mine out when I was six and again when I was twelve (yup, they can grow back). Honestly, the first day I was groggy, of course, and my throat felt a little scratchy, but the next day I was fine and begging to go back to school. Stick with popsicles and jello the first day or so, then go for things like mac and cheese or mashed potatoes. Make sure he doesn’t blow his nose! That was honestly the most miserable part for me. Luckily he’s still super young, so it should be a breeze. His breath is definitely going to stink for a while though 😅

I see someone already mentioned it, but yes, prepare yourself for the STINKY breath. It's been many years since my son got his removed, but I remember that smell!

His breath is gonna be soooo stank for a few days!!!! Rotate tylenol and motrin (every 4 hours) as needed. Keep his activity low for about a week i think

Make sure you rotate Tylenol and the pain meds. His breath is going to STINK! Dairy will increase mucus so try to avoid it. But lots of cold soothing foods.
