it happens in our legal system all the time. What do you think? CPS is? All about? There are cases tried in secrecy by government lawyers who overview a case and make a decision as to whether it’s in the public interest or whether they can win it or not, and once they’ve made a decision no one can go against them decisions are made. There are so many victims they don’t have a voice because of CPS. Having a super injunction about a breach of data is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s really going on behind closed doors.

Yeah, seems reasonable. You didn’t blow up the data breach so we didn’t hear about it but more importantly the taliban didn’t hear about it and people were safer

If it happened over 2 years it’s not “the government” then is it? No. It’s the last Tory government. The current Labour government spent a year sorting out the mess and getting the injunction lifted, which is why you can talk about it now. I despair at the quality of jouranlism in this country. Must be among the worst in the free world.

Without more context I can see why there is a perception that you wished to place people at risk by publishing and hence the backlash here - having *only* read the BBC article it looks more nuanced; unnamed official used unsanctioned route to share classified information and it was leaked - including to Facebook - placing people at risk. I think the issue is the lack of scrutiny of data management rather than a desire to publish the list or highlight it to those who would seek ill against the names on the list?
