@beyondthewalk: you can do it and it's going to take everything you have. | i don't have a formal est date for Beyond the Walk but it's somewhere around now 8 years ago. it started with moving out of an HOA that said i couldn't foster anymore. i quit a job i didn't like and thought about what i would do next. i could go back to corporate or...i had cared for about a dozen foster dogs up to then, some behavioral, and i wondered if i could do that for owned dogs for pay. 8 years ago i had 3 dogs, Riley and Kane and Puppy as a foster. i thought what options do i have that could accommodate all of the different needs of my OG 3? truly none. i sat on the floor of my one-bedroom, glorified-apartment condo, tossing chicken as i'd done for weeks to still-fearful Corner Puppy in the kitchen corner that he'd made his comfort spot. what to call dog care that was made to be different? and Beyond the Walk was born. when it was trying and when it was easy, Beyond was what i did. through 3 PT jobs at first, building fences and a network, missing sleep and holidays. through covid and zoning. through tough clients and the worst days of my life. yet so much good between. and while i've become able to step away at times, give attention to these dogs of mine who patiently waited while i built something, Beyond continues to be more than a kennel - with the trust and needs of every person that's put a dog in my hands and ideas and the help of every person that's been a part of Beyond. for me, invention is never finished and i can't wait to see what Beyond will continue to become. yet, i am more than content with what beyond is today. i am in no rush. i could have never imagined this life 8 years ago and it's only been possible with everyone along the way. i hope we all find our Beyond because a dream isn't just about achieving it, it's everything else - choices made for a dream, connecting because of a dream, providing through a dream, sharing a dream. keeping a dream alive. | footage featuring farm day & farm weekend from last month with the ##dogdaycare& ##dogboarding##dogs
