I try to remember what it must be like in her head, like her talking so negatively to herself always. It’s honestly so sad how damaged and unhealed she is. I’m thankful I am a cycle breaker and actively work on my daughter’s emotional health and apologizing to her regularly when I mess up.

It’s so sad because it is obviously a defence mechanism. My mum’s parents will have never said that they loved her. That generation did not praise they kids as it might make them full of themselves. So nothing but endless criticism.

my mom's negative comments are normally about me or other women unprovoked. last time I was just existing and she was telling my brother not to feel bad about his gray hair because I wasn't "fooling anyone" dying mine. 😂 like damn lady, why am I catching strays? he can dye his, you can dye yours TF.

See. My boomer mom hates me because I don’t put up with this behavior, I call her out on it, I refuse to compliment her when she demands it. More so child compliments in this video bothered me more than the boomer behavior bc oh HELL NO.

They can’t take compliments or give them. My silent gen mom once told me “It’s interesting how you don’t look fat from the front.” So, I lost 50lbs then she said, “You don’t need to lose any more weight.” I realized it was her way of giving me a compliment so I thanked her. She was so close. Lol!

I invited my mother over she spent 30 mins insulting every thing ive changed or.done with the house and then creating made up scenarios in which the things I did such as plant new flowers couldxbe potentially dangerous. strongly considering cutting communication im so sick of it
