Finally respooled rods from 3 years ago. It was over due. I’d say every other year. Unless they sit out in the sun a lot. If you’re like me. You can pull off 20-30 ft and never know it.

Still using Trilene Big Game mono. Maybe change half way through the season, mainly because the spool is getting lower than I want it to be. No issues with breaking them off.

3 years on braid. the biggest one is right handed reels are for lefties. and vice versa. I'm a rightie and use left handed. all lefties use right handed.

I only swap braid when its fraying deep in the spool and floro when I have done everything to get rid of most of the memory and it still looks like a slinky😂
