Yall are confusing yourselves way too much regarding shipping costs and all that, what's important is the Import duty, Ad valorem% and Vat. 300k car will cost around 170k for import duty and taxes including shipping rates. Alot of TCS apply especially for second hand cars. 300k vehicle from China will cost you 470 in south africa

As long as SA doesn’t manufacture its own products, everything will be expensive. South Africa imports a lot, like a lot lot. Thats why we are always to get scammed. We can’t want cheap imported goods hle. We must be focusing on manufacturing our own.
