@specialeducationboss: When medical symptoms overlap with behavior, the IEP can hold the key to protecting your child from unnecessary send-homes. #SpecialEducationBoss #MedicalBehaviorOverlap #IEPRights #ParentAdvocate #FAPEProtection #KnowYourRights
How do you force diarrhea? I have a student who will make himself puke but I’m just not clear on how one would force loose stool.

FullSPEDAhead :
We can say something along the lines of: behavior should be considered when addressing somatic symptoms of anxiety such as (nausea, headache, bowel movements) and the special education teacher and nurse will consult with parent before to make a decision on attendance. *the caveat is that I need the parent to have the understanding that these symptoms impact their ability to attend class. And they should be under therapist and or doctor supervision on these symptoms and their educational impact and the parent needs to be doing something medically to help ease the behavior and symptoms.
