When using straight intermittent catheters (without a collection bag) to perform daily self-catheterization it can be difficult to empty your bladder directly into a toilet. Many of us will use a urinal to collect the urine and empty it into a toilet because the catheter isn’t long enough to reach the toilet bowl. Some of us will purchase longer catheters or get catheter extensions that are difficult to attach to the existing catheter with limited hand function. We developed the Uri-Luge to provide a path for the urine to flow from the end of the intermittent catheter into the toilet bowl. This is a two piece tool that snaps together providing over fourteen inches of extension for the catheter to reach the toilet. At the mouth of the Uri-Luge is the urinal cap design which locks the end of the catheter in place. There is also a hook/handle near the top that goes inside the opening of the shorts or pants to anchor the Uri-Luge. At the middle of the tool is a loop to maneuver the Uri-Luge along with three indentations for grip. We also made a lap rest that snaps onto the tool so that the Uri-Luge does not come in to contact with the toilet bowl. The Uri-Luge is available now in our online shop! Please check out our adaptive product line by clicking on the view shop button or visiting us at www.abiliteaseadaptive.com and support a disabled owned business. You can also access the link above in our bio.
