I’m in no way blaming you but for us non medical personnel, can you explain why you couldn’t do a procedure pro-bono? Is it the actual cost of the supplies that is so expensive or the labor? No judgement I just don’t understand

I think all providers that have a high ethical standard should have a GoFundMe and that collective community pool of money is used in the judgment of the doctor. We have to save us. No one is coming.

You need to start talking with your colleagues and peers and start forming unions and dental groups as physicians and dentists

I mean it's only going to get worse at this point with what's going on. If you with a good heart can turn away a person saying they're hungry and give them zero options how do you expect those with no heart to care? If those with a heart can justify turning a blind eye then there is no chance for change.

Insurance is for profit. That’s it and it’s inhumane. It’s been long overdue for a major reform. It’s absolutely correct. This isn’t your fault or others. This is a domino effect of greed & neglect by insurance executives & corporations

How does it work when a pt teeth become a medical issue. I know standard coverage usually includes 2x yrly cleanings + x-rays with a maximum $ amt but what about when it becomes a medical case. Does medical coverage come into play then (as opposed to just dental insurance)?

Sounds like university should be less expensive for you to work at a more reasonable pace.

I love your compassion 💜 and appreciate your insight bc we don’t always know what goes on on the other side and it’s very frustrating how greedy these corporations are.

I think it’s really important that you shared this online, it beings more attention to the issue. I have been in this patients shoes. It’s incredibly defeating & feels like no one is there for us. Thank you for this.

When you own your own practice you are not bound by leadership telling you what you can and can’t do…. You can help, you have choices. I’m not saying everyone gets free work but small payment plans that she can afford, something to help. It’s 1 person. You have choices.

I manage dental offices and the reimbursement rates don't even cover overhead! All dentists need to drop them all! They need to understand 🤬
