@ashley.s.daugherty: A Little Taste of Heaven: My Testimony 34 years I questioned if God even existed and I had little knowledge about Him and even less desire to get to know him. I didn’t know him as a little girl in a broken home full of abuse and addiction. I didn’t know him when I watched my mom get beat; bloody, black & blue. I didn’t know him when she continued to drown in drugs and alcohol. I didn’t know him when me and my siblings were separated by an extremely flawed system. I didn’t know him when I decided to get married and start a family. I didn’t know him when my baby died in my arms, or when I was in the ER, separated from my newborn, and told I was in heart failure. I didn’t know him when I was actually praying someone would come save me if the blood clot traveled to my lungs. And I definitely didn’t know him when my dad died in a horrific car accident. I didn’t know him during the biggest, hardest moments of my life. But he was there, very patiently waiting for the perfect time to finally wake me up. In July 2024 if you asked me I’d be attending church the next month I would have probably looked at you weird and laughed. Me? Church? Ha, no thanks. The thought of church made me physically ill. It was truly the last place I wanted to be. But God had other things in mind. August 2024 I had a radical encounter with Jesus that changed my life forever and I was saved. My experience was very Saul to Paul. One day I was someone and 3 days later God did some crazy things to my heart and I was a completely different person. No for real, I cursed on the regular. Probably so much that each sentence I said had a curse word. I was also the QUEEN of “living your truth” but after that encounter, I immediately stopped cursing and realized the only truth to live, wasn’t actually my own, it belonged to Jesus. And on February 16th I made my public declaration to follow Jesus in front of my congregation. And let me just tell you, THAT is just a little taste of Heaven on Earth.
