I read Greek mythology and if I remember correctly then Aphrodite was forced to marry him and she was forced by Zeus and that was because of Hephaestus (he did something to make it happen even though I don’t remember what)

From what I remember he got his revenge by making a throne Hera would be stuck in, and Zeus married him off to Aphrodite but she was into Ares, so Hephaestus who guessed it, laid a trap in her bed to make Ares and Aphrodite stuck once they both lay there with some invisible strings I think? He then called all the gods there to see them in the act but some of them were actually really chill about it and found it funny
