Omg this has happened to me twice!! I don’t regret it but it’s funny. I didn’t know they dropped like that so quick then uppity up. No regrets and I’m still doing it….but I sold a ton of QBTS 🫠

A stop-loss order is a bad idea because it may trigger sales during short-term market dips, locking in losses and missing potential recoveries. Warren Buffett advises against such reactive strategies, emphasizing long-term investing in quality companies. He famously said, "The stock market is a device for transferring money from turma the impatient to the patient," highlighting how stop-losses can undermine patience, selling strong assets prematurely during volatility.

Sounds like he needs a bigger buffer. Maybe try using a trailing stop loss

Does Dean have some stocks in his portfolio that he just holds and never sells? Of course protecting with stop loss.

I truly appreciate these videos. I often find that many stocks can experience rapid movements within just a few minutes. While I use Schwab to execute trades, I find that the process involves numerous steps: entering the trade amount, specifying the price (which can be problematic when prices increase quickly), and then accepting the terms in each pop-up window. Am I doing it wrong? Is Dean aware of whether there is a method to place orders with a single click?

I'm all about swing trading. I do trailing stop loss at 7 or 8%. I get an alert if it stops out. If I'm super confident it will go back up, I buy back in. Sometimes at a lower price than I got stopped out at.

If your consistently hitting stop loss for a loss then, your buying too high. Try buying at your typical stop loss level. Your probably trading obviously levels that are prone to getting liquidity sweeps.

Interesting question that I’m sure a lot of people would relate to: would you also take profits from etfs like qqq and voo? Even if those are meant to be for long term
