@pbsnews: President Donald Trump is making big and controversial changes to the future of public education, including a provision in the president's major policy act that amounts to a new national school voucher program.Starting in 2027, the U.S. government will offer a generous federal tax incentive aimed at expanding school choice, but states will decide whether to opt in.Individuals would receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit up to $1,700 when they donate to a nonprofit that offers education scholarships. They could then use that money for tuition and other educational expenses, including for private or religious schooling.PBS News Hour's Stephanie Sy spoke to The Washington Post's Laura Meckler to learn more. #departmentofeducation #supremecourt #trump #news #pbsnews
so socialism is okay as long as it's for religious schools, but not healthcare, housing, food security, and worker protections. got it.

So public schools are upset that we no longer want to support the school to prison pipeline. Too bad.

It’s making it easier to not educate poor people so only those who can afford it will get an education

In Iowa, when they gave out these tax incentives - guess what private schools did? They raised their tuition by about the same amount (or more).

All BS! Destruction of public schools. This will make the gap of education between states very high.

And, no one explains that these private schools do not provide transportation to and from or breakfast and lunch. Or sports activities. Parents are required to provide those extras. So it’s not equal to a public school at all. And when the private schools raise their tuition, it does so to make it more difficult for families to afford private schools. When families are told this offers them school choice, these extra and different expectations are usually obstacles that parents cannot afford. 🤬🤬🤬

The ongoing genocide in Palestine, supported by the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, will not go unnoticed. Sooner or later, accountability will be sought at The Hague.
