If you have nesting boxes in the coop they “should” lay in the coop. Wait a few hours in the morning before letting them out to roam and cross your fingers lol

The pecking order is brutal and no one talks about it when starting our with chickens I’m going on 9yrs of having chickens and it still sucks integrating them 😅

I’ve heard most will lay less or not at all in the peak heat and cold so you could let them free roam at those times of the year
