Since Trump activated the guard without consulting Governor Newsom, the US government has to pay for everything for these soldiers and make sure they have everything they need. They’re expected to keep sleeping on the ground until the end of the week. Trump still has not invoked the insurrection act, so the guard and the marines can’t even legally help law enforcement. So they just have to stand out in the sun all day.
