You can buy a crystal file to file off or dull the broken piece of the apple. They work great. Got mine on Amazon

If the sharp piece of the glass isn’t really big you can try to use an Emory board to smooth it out. Great finds!

You can smooth glass with an old-fashioned emery board, or emery cloth. I had luck once with just a sandpaper type nailfile.

Glass grinder like stained glass artists use is your best option. You’ll need water to sand the glass if you don’t have a grinder. Wet it and use a nail file or sandpaper with very gentle pressure.
