I woke up paralyzed a couple months ago. Been in the hospital since then. So my mom let my friends know what happened shortly after I was hospitalized. I was in a place when I had the strength and cognizance to look at my phone a couple weeks after surgery and…let me tell you it was shocking to see who had reached out. Regarding this quote - I had multiple friends and SIBLINGS who didn’t make any effort to be any part of my world. STRONGLY disagree because in almost every case said friend always has excuses and then is seen with a whole other group of friends the next day completely fine…. so yah im pretty sure i would notice them never showing up for me but showing up for every other friend they’ve made when they’ve known my longer🫠

It goes both ways. People can’t always read minds or even see you may be going through a hard time. We are all struggling with something. If you don’t tell someone you are hurting people won’t know. Communication is key. Someone already drowning can’t notice anyone or anything else. I would always check in and ask how everyone were doing and if they were ok and if there is anything I can do to let me know. If I’m not the first to ask, I don’t get anything from certain parties. They never ask. Communication is key. If you need help don’t be afraid to speak up x

I ve literally been there, had cancer twice & have had to work through the mental toll that’s taken on me. You really do see who’s what after something like that. I’ve never asked for people’s help & I don’t want it, all I’ve ever expected is basic common decency from people & in some cases I got the complete opposite.
