I absolutely hated the way they treated Anya this episode. She was a demon for millennia. She wasn't used to death, anymore. And no one would stop long enough to explain it to her. Yes, they were all grieving. But Anya needed help to understand WHY she needed to grieve.

I remember saying on a Buffy Boards chat over 10 years ago that Anya is coded autistic and being shot down. This is such an autistic response! I'm autistic and still don't understand how we can't just make the body not be dead 😭

Actually Anya’s questions reactions are really the most honest reaction. I think most people think of the most mundane things their loved one will never get to see or do again. And often struggle with the why, ans that it’s not fair.

I was so confused about anya being sad about loss when she was a vengeance demon who killed people all the time. Did she never see the sorrow some experienced from the loss. yeah most of the people who summoned her wanted them dead but some had to feel the loss even a little.
