I see a lot of comments of Jonah protecting Peter and keeping his identity safe when Goblin attacks but let's not forget that in the 90's cartoon, Jonah hires Matt Murdock and very expensive lawyer to represent Peter after Peter was framed of being a traitor.

I love JJ. I understand why he hates Spider-Man (with his rough childhood and all) but he LOVES Captain America. JJ has seen a lot too (took photos of the Vietnam War) and I think people forget this about him. he is so complex, and through it all, he cares deeply for Peter and treats him like a son.

I HATED his version in NWH. JJJ wouldnt invade Peters space to capture his lowest point. The world knows he’s Spider-man, so the whole mask vigilante hate is out the window and his unnecessary hate for Spider-man is forced. Disney doesn’t understand the core characters and sees the superficial parts

I feel people bumming Jonah down to “I hate spiderman” and nothing fundamentally misunderstand him as a character. In the comics, people in the public already had a distrust for spiderman and Jonah was banking off that and agreeing for his own personal gain but that’s not the end of the story. Jonah wife was taken from him because of a so called “masked hero” so he has personal qualms with spiderman because of losing someone so important to him. He grows past this blind resentment and comes to respect spiderman on occasions and he genuinely cares for Peter as a person because he understands Peter’s pain of losing someone so close to him. Jonah is a complex man but a good man under all the baggage

He hates Spider-Man because of the collateral damage he causes and that he can't take responsibility for it cuz he wears a mask. In many runs where Spider-Man is unmasked, jjj completely changes his tune
