I have recently realized that doom scrolling, dissociating and bed rotting are not restful and now I don’t know what the hell to do

“Released from obligation” 😳 I can remember what that felt like but I can’t feel it any more. Not really. It’s he obligation is always there, even if it’s on the back burner for a bit.

that's why I enjoy cleaning and tidying up my house. it makes me feel like I accomplished something, unlike at work where, whatever you do, it's hard to get completion. nothing gives more joy than having a clean and tidy home.

Today I experienced a panic attack for the first time while I was “relaxing” on the couch. I think what caused it is cause I was worried about my health the last 2 days.

It’s not scientific to say the body is a machine. We don’t understand yet for example how gene expression is maintained. We don’t understand consciousness. We don’t understand what is life. None of these things can be replicated by any machine. Science only deals with what we know as facts. Your arrogance makes you look ignorant.

Just Enough Actually :
When my therapist suggested that actually "doomscrolling" tiktok might be a really calming, settling experience I was denying myself. Made such a difference to let myself enjoy the experience rather than fight it.

Now that youve said it, a jolt of triumph (no matter how small, and also, i love that phrase) and a plan are actually extremely comforting to me

Follow and listen to your heart.
Yes, the physical heart does have a role to play in the operation of the brain. This is why cognative science is confused about consciousness. it assume the brain is in charge. thats not the full story, its a misread of data.

What are examples of activities that could make you feel more in control? I have a lot of social anxiety, but bugging or micromanaging my friends would be unhelpful ofc. So what are hobbies, or alternate outlets that I could do to feel more in control?

Love how you break these things down and articulate them so clearly. I feel like I had some awareness on it but hearing you explain it this way is wonderful. Great video 🫶🏻 definitely interested in another on a systematic approach!

One thing that works pretty well & frequently for me is Zentangle which is structured doodling that focuses on the process of creating instead of the outcome. Embroidery works similarly for me, focusing on each stitch done well instead of the project.
