I think if they need more of a cut away from Haymitch's view to make it less gory they can show Beetee watching it happen. Which would add another layer of trauma but not necessarily gore. Whatever happens I just know I'm gonna cry.

i did media studies, and pg-13 CAN include strong/extended violence (so extended scenes of it). they could show his body *but* bc of the extent of how violent his death is, they might censor it a little. so maybe just show his clothes hanging loosely on his bones perhaps bc they cant show the extent of the injuries and are typically bloodless or its limited. ik for certain Wellie's death will not be shown as it is in the book (i think the most they could do is show blood dripping but even then thats a BIG if)

Honestly, Haymitch really didn’t actually physically see anyone’s deaths, except for Lou Lou… i think they’ll be focused on what he’s seeing & then he’ll turn around & the camera will pan to what has just happened.

Honestly the challenge is not showing gore is how to show the bones without it looking comical with the perfect nature surrounding of the arena and takes you out of the movie. They did a good job of showing piles of bones in district 12 in mockingjay pt 1 tho, so they might pull it off but the setting is different
