Honestly they are giving very much Christianlike cultish vibes. Personally I think The religion needs a complete overhaul. I was not introduced to the Orisha via no religion or initiation. I have real blood ties and so does all West African people. I only got Hand of Ifa because the Orisha asked me to for a very particular reason but even then I dont do things the way they do in the religion.

You are spot on. I totally agree with you. I am an elder here crowned for 51 years. There people suck in their egos. I always advise people to stay with the spiritualy first. I never gate keep no information, orisha yes I have too. But anyone has the right to practice their spiritual journeys differently from others. We don’t have the same ancestors or spiritual guides. No one has the right to tell others how to practice. I been in Palo for over 30 years, witchcraft for 40 years. May you be protected and blessed 🥰🥰🥰

these convos are interesting because why do you think deities established traditions within cultures? why priesthoods are even a thing? is ancestral and natural and we can't have convos about venerating ancestors and holding them and bypass systems set up to work with divinities and spirits in said culture. that's insane

I have been in and out of Santeria house since I was 5 damn near everyone I encountered is some form of abusive, homophobic, colonized, and male centered. Mind you in 34 so in my 29 years of being in and out I have yet to find someone that isn’t like that?!Every atom in my body SCREAMS “this is wrong” when they answer my questions and when I challenge them they respond with bc that’s how it is or do as I say without question. This has caused me to withdraw from any organized religion.
