I was an automotive tech for 30 year’s finally got tired of being taken advantage of and teaching new techs that got paid the same as me but i had to do all the hardest jobs now im a heavy equipment mechanic making 67.80 an hr plus crazy OT if i want it bringing home 190k easily wish i knew about this years ago

my fellow tech today just told me that our shop has big favoritism and not in my favor he said he gets most of the work while me and my assistant are standing around I had the worst pay in hours last pay I went off on my manager this morning

In a national shortage of Technicians if you are sitting move to the next shop,that's why they put wheels on your box! If your a good tech there are so many jobs here in Charleston SC, I saw one shop offering a 30k sign on bonus for people to move

yes main reason why I left the industry, doing other people come back as "inhouse warranty" young guys working for 14.00 flat rate getting customer pay, when comes back, I'm fixing it for little hours and free diagnostics. get out of the industry not worth it

First of all your work at the wrong place. Second you’re probably the problem. If you’re a good tech ur going to be taken care of no matter what. Third the store would have the wrong management. And if you’re not happy roll on out. There’s other better places.
