Just had my robotic assisted low anterior resection with diverting loop ileostomy on 6/25…they gave me the same drink & failed to realize it has fish oil in it & I’m allergic to fish…luckily I realized by drink 3 & it just made me itchy…I go back 8/25 to get resection done & get rid of my colostomy bag…that has been my hardest part of journey so far with cancer

I work for drs who do colonoscopy’s and I always feel bad when telling patients about the prep.. it is the worst thing ever. Good luck!!! Also if you two ever want to get married I will do it for free!!!

Once you recover you are going to get your life back! They couldn’t do laparoscopic and had to cut and they said it was really bad. I haven’t had one diverticulitis bout in two years! I’m thinking of you.

my kids have to do this yearly. Some started at 5yrs old .This sucks for a mom. Hard ro watch.

Diverticulitis issues? I ask because I had a sigmoid cholecystectomy due to recurring diverticulitis....it was such a rough time. Prayers to you for a safe surgery and speedy recovery.

I had a sigmoid resection 12/15/21. I didn't even know how much I was hurting until I wasn't. I quit drinking alcohol, rarely eat red meat, everything I can do to avoid creating new diverticuli, if possible. I want to keep feeling good!

I had to do 2 days of dulc and mira again. And repeat colonoscopy in 3ish years if no issues. I'm definitely going to have issues😞.

You got this,buddy! I had this done in April. If you haven’t already, purchase a belly band! They’re meant for (I think) people who have had c-sections but mine was a lifesaver after surgery! Sending all the good vibes and love to you and Emily! 🤟😘🫂

I had it done 8 years ago. On the plus side, no fiber - all (soft) carbs and I lost 18lbs during my recovery. I’ve had 2 diverticulitis attacks since then but very minor and I’m oh so much more careful now. Best wishes on your recovery.
