Umm I would definitely want my husband to be there for the most important ultrasound literally see if everything is ok and the baby is normal. That man lived his life a funeral is for others not for him he’s gone you can talk to him at the grave site. This coming from someone who hates funerals. You supposed to put your wife and kids first the family you built comes first. Now if it’s not their first child or daughter that’s a lil different and you can reschedule a funeral just like you can an appointment the appointment was first funeral was after. If someone happens to have a funeral on your daughters birthday you gonna miss her birthday for a funeral 🤔

For those unaware - the morphology scan that is done at 20 weeks is only able to be done between 19 and 21 weeks. It’s a large gap but it can’t be done before and it can’t be done afterwards. It specifically has to be done during those weeks. Most of the time you have to book these appointments weeks out. It’s usually an hour long appointment and depending on where you are, you may not have many options regarding scheduling or when they can get you in. So it’s often not as simple as rescheduling the appointment because the next available appointment maybe outside the availability window.

I hate when women make me side with a man. like move the appointment or be okay going on your own/with face time. if it waa a high risk pregnancy or there were complications it would be a more nuanced decision but just a normal appointment can be moved for a fucking funeral.

That's kinda wild that they scheduled the funeral at the same time as an already scheduled ultrasound. It was on a Wednesday. Aren't funerals usually on a weekend so it's easier for people to attend? It almost seems intentional. I'd probably look into rescheduling, but ultrasounds are often booked weeks ahead and sometimes can't just be moved a day or two.

I've had to reschedule that appointment with both pregnancys. One of which was in fact for a funeral. It's really not that big of a deal if it waits a week or two. If she was high risk they would've done the anatomy scan at 18 weeks so she has no reason she can't reschedule it other than she doesn't want to.

For everyone saying that the 20 week appointment can be rescheduled no I can’t they book up. It’s hard to get into them. Also, why do they have to have the funeral on Wednesday? Why can’t they have it on Thursday or why can’t they have it on Tuesday? he’s not going anywhere. We waited over a week to bury my grandmother so everybody could come into town and we didn’t inconvenience anybody.

My husband had a grandparent pass away a couple of months ago. I’m pregnant. I called to change my appointments. I packed him and the kids. I found a sitter for the dog. Got his suit pressed filled up the car with gas and held his hand as we traveled 4 hours away. That’s what you do as a loving partner. Not throw a fit.

Their 20 week scan is for gender etc and they know already. PLUS OP even said it was already 22 weeks. So pushing another few day/week is not a big deal at all. Wife is TA. OP NTA at all.

Soo many commenters are giving off all these excuses…. It’s an ultrasound, no biggy to reschedule. Her first thing should have been ok husband I will reschedule and we can board the dog and go, even spend the night to be there for your family. I don’t like her attitude and lack of empathy for her husband and his family. Poor guy doesn’t see the value in himself or how much she steamrolls over him.

To be fair, we had to schedule our anatomy scan six weeks in advance. At some practices, you can’t reschedule and the 20 week is supposed to be between 18-22 weeks. Rescheduling honestly might not be as simple and everyone is trying to make it

I don't think she even needs to reschedule, it's not the gender reveal, he should go to the funeral and she should go to the appointment. I get that she is disappointed, but it's not a life changing type of disappointment

If they scheduled the appointment and then his grandpa's health started declining, and they knew he could pass any day, they should have called the doctor and explained the situation. They could have asked if they could keep the appointment but just know that if the funeral ended up being on that day, they would have to reschedule.

🙄 Women like this. She isn't a good partner. Appointments can be moved and honestly my husband has had to miss several of my appointments for all 3 kids because you know life.
