I like your take! I see a level of duality within selfishness. They’re selfish in the sense of ego — overly concerned with the physical aspects of identity (external validation, approval, status) vs. the spiritual (love, internal validation).

It’s surface level, just as is the entire concept of ego. Working on things that will garner external validation to sustain ego ≠ addressing things that garner internal sense of self esteem + self worth
