Not to nerd out but since you mentioned it I thought this info might be helpful- In Shredded cheese microplastic just comes from packaging they often add cellulose (basically sawdust) to prevent sticking and natamycin (anti fungal medication) as a preservative. So even tho they’re considered “safe” still block cheese is better due to less additives
