@sheltie_fidget: You’re right, animals do need to learn. But that learning doesn’t magically happen without guidance, boundaries, and yes, control from a responsible handler. * The reality is, 99% of the pets I encounter in public are not trained. I can’t control whether someone puts in the work, but I can ask for basic courtesy, like keeping your dog close and not letting them wander into another dog’s space. * Not every dog wants to say hi. Some are reactive. Some are fearful. Some, like my Service Dog in Training, Violence, are actively working. And some handlers simply don’t want interactions, and that is valid. * Your dog’s excitement is never an excuse to ignore boundaries. If your dog can’t walk by another without lunging or dragging you over, then yes, it’s on you to control them until they’re trained. That’s not harsh, it’s responsible. Don’t gamble with your dog’s safety or mine. * * We do not, have not and never will condone any threats or harassment towards individuals featured within this post. * * #servicedogs #servicedog #servicedogcommunity #serviceanimals #serviceanimal #dogs #dog #dogcommunity #education #medicalalertdog #disabled #disability #nj #newjersey #njservicedog #fyp #fy #foryoupage #viral #goviral #explorepage #explore #DogTraining #dogtrainer

Fenix-Tervueren AssistanceDog :
Leashes exist so that untrained dogs can be restrained, in order to prevent them from bothering others.
