First of all, Boravia makes agreements with an external force to divide the territory after an annexation. That’s clearly inspired by how countries like Iran and other Arab states interfere in the conflict instead of helping resolve it. It mirrors exactly how they back groups that don’t want peace but want to destroy Israel. Israel is defending itself from terrorism. The children in the movie screaming for Superman when no one else is coming? That is literally the cry of the Bibas children and so many others who are still being held in captivity. It’s also a reflection of the Israeli children who were burned alive, beheaded, and executed during the October 7 massacre. That wasn’t a protest, it was an invasion. Thirteen hundred civilians were murdered in under two hours. This wasn’t a “clash”, imagine if they had more time. They would have killed everyone they could. That’s not freedom fighting. That’s a plan to wipe Israel out. And don’t forget, Superman was created by Jewish people. His story has always been filled with Jewish themes: exile, identity, survival, the fight for good in the face of evil. His character has strong roots in the Jewish experience and the Israeli spirit. So turning him into someone who stands for justice and rescues the helpless only supports Israel’s moral stand, not the other way around. Also, this movie could just as easily be about Ukraine and Russia, where a sovereign country was invaded, civilians are dying, and the world is watching. Or about the genocide in Myanmar, where the Rohingya people are being erased. Or the ethnic cleansing of Uyghur Muslims in China. But those stories don’t trend like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict does. People talk about Gaza not because they care more, but because it’s the easiest “cause” to latch onto for attention online. That’s not activism, it’s performance. So no, this movie isn’t anti-Israel. If anything, it’s anti-terror, anti-genocide, and a reminder of what happens when good people do nothing. Sounds a lot like Israel to me.
