Is it still flyable? Able to fly? Or retired?

Jim :
Just looked it up: the positive camber on the nose wheel helped with stability and turns while taxiing. The angle ensured maximum tire contact with the tarmac.

What’s your most favorite aircraft to fly and which have you flown before throughout your career as airline pilot?

It decreases the turning radius is my guess 🤷♂️

The camber on the nose wheels is by design to keep both tires in contact with the ground during tight steer angles.

In the 80s I watched a constellation back up. The operator put the engine in reverse and I watched the main gear actually pivot forward on their truss pins. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen a landing gear do.
